SIU Wind Ensemble

The SIU Wind Ensemble, led by Dr. Christopher Morehouse, is the School of Music’s premier touring wind band. The group features around 40 of the university’s top instrumentalists and is open to all SIU students—whether music majors, minors, or non-majors—who perform at an advanced level on woodwinds, brass, percussion, double bass, piano, or harp.

Each year, the Wind Ensemble presents five concerts in Shryock Auditorium, including a featured performance during the annual Heartland Honor Bands and Choir Festival in February. The ensemble also tours regularly, sharing their music on regional, national, and international stages.
